Landscape Experiments

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all well and enjoying this beautiful, bright, sunny day So, you know I don’t do landscapes / seascapes etc….well, because I’ve never done them before, it’s making me feel as if I should ‘try’ them at least. Trouble is, when you’ve been used to doing (mainly) just portraits for a few years, then anything else doesn’t come easily / is frustrating and feels like rubbish…..

I suppose I’m wondering whether I should keep ‘trying’ to see if I can improve at all - I’m certain that must be possible looking at this one ! And also, whether I could ever start to enjoy painting them.

I love painting portraits humans and animal, but I can’t say I loved doing this at all.

I’m really not happy with the sky or anything being honest and it’s only painted on to an A3 board. I reckon this subject would have much more impact painted on a larger scale.

I have friends who paint landscapes and their pictures are stunning. But perhaps I’m just being impatient and eventually I may get the hang of it, although that doesn’t mean I’ll ever get good or produce anything that makes me feel as if I’ve achieved something !

This painting has just been ‘plonked’ in frame to see what it would look like - but it doesn’t even fit the board !

Arrgghh !!!!

Thanks for ‘listening’ and enjoy the rest of your day
